Another alert on Nutro

When I first got Finn from the breeder back in October 2007, he was started on Nutro Natural Choice Large Breed Puppy - Controlled Growth Formula. I didn't think anything of it because I was under the impression that it is better than Purina, Iams or other popular commercial brands, but I couldn't help but wonder why Finn's stools smelled so bad despite the raves about dogs having shiny coats, etc.

I thought I'd include the latest on Nutro Pet Food. There has been countless reports of late in Consumer Affairs about dogs falling ill and dying.

Interestingly, Nutro products contain Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex which is poisonous to dogs. It is a source of Vitamin K (synthetic form of Vitamin K) activity evidently not fit for human consumption. So if the FDA did not approve it for people to begin with, why dog food companies use it is something to be questioned. Apparently, Menadione is an inexpensive alternative to the real thing!
